GUIDELINES FOR USE AS AN ENTHEOGEN
These lotus flowers have the quality to act as a mild euphoric sedative. The flower can be inhaled, ingested solid, or made into an infusion .
SMOKING; Dosage aprx. 1/2 g. rolled into a cigarette , smoked through a waterpipe or vaporized. This is a very mild, fragrant, pleasant smoke. Effects last up to two hours. The effects from smoking Lotus will often go unnoticed or written off as a placebo until one has familiarized themselves with this plant’s spirit.
EATEN ; Dosage aprx. 2-5 g. (gel caps work best). This method can work well depending on the dosage used. Start with a smaller dose, work your way up to the desired amount. Effects can last up to 6 hours. Some people have reported lasting effects into the next day. There has been mention of people eating lotus flowers for several days on end to achieve the so called “true effects ” of this entheogen.
TEA; Dosage 1 1/2 – 3 g. Start with 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil. Add lotus. Simmer until desired amount of liquid for ingestion is left (1-2 cups). Strain out solid material. Drink slowly. Effects will last up to 6 hours(lasting effects can occur). This is one of my favorite methods of ingestion.
WINE; Dosage 1/4 oz. per average wine bottle size. Let the Lotus flowers soak in the wine for up to one week but no less than 24 hours. Strain out solid material. One glass of this wine is usually sufficient to produce noticeable effects that may last up to 6 hours*. Unfortunately, if one has a low tolerance to alcohol the effect of the wine can often ‘cloud’ the experience of the Lotus. One can also make a more potent wine by using less wine for the preparation. In which case it may be possible to consume a smaller amount of wine , thus minimizing the effects of the alcohol.
* When I say 6 hours what I mean is that this is how long one may experience the material in their systems, but generally the most noticeable effects are felt within the first couple hours after ingestion.
DO NOT DRIVE OR OPERATE DANGEROUS MACHINERY WHILE UNDER THE
INFLUENCE OF THE LOTUS FLOWERS!!
